Engaging women to lead and design community-based solution to advance social and economic change

The project aims at advancing the already invested efforts in talent and skills of local young women to be engaged in developing their social solutions ideas into reality. The project will primarily promote the establishment of networks and coalitions among women from diverse communities through joint initiatives, actions and partnerships, expanding the interaction and dialogue platform that strengthen trust-building and reconciliatory processes. Such initiatives will provide tangible examples of socially responsible leadership and profit-making while at the same time assisting the neighbourhood with creative solutions. After the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, the initiative was amended to include an additional activity focusing on the economic empowerment of 60 women. The women will receive materials to sew face masks and will be paid a one-month stipend. These masks will then be donated by UNMIK to vulnerable sectors of the population. The women will be left with a significant amount of material to continue their own entrepreneurship projects.
