An exhibition of portraits of young artist Veselj Selijia from Kamenicë / Kosovska Kamenica, entitled "Behind Melancholy," opened last night at the Mitrovica Private Cultural Center "Aquarius". It is pain, not physical but mental, that "tears our psyche" - presented through the works of an eighteen-year-old high school student, to his own admission. He finds inspiration for his artwork in his everyday environment. This is his first exhibition in North Mitrovica and the second one on his own.

His professor and friend, a member of the Kamnik Cultural Shelter “Krik”, Slobodan Miljkovic, spoke about Vesel's work.

He points out that he is dedicated, and that he carefully approaches all his work.

“He is versatile and has extensive knowledge, especially in the social sciences and humanities. He turned all his knowledge into art," he states.

"His works are not only fine art, but perhaps a critique of the whole society. The motives he uses may be the mirror of the whole modern society, and maybe even the mirror of all of us,” says Miljkovic.

"With my continued dedication, I believe that he will create a unique art manuscript in this field. I believe that Veselj will grow into one great valuable visual artist,” he points out.
