The development of football competitions in Kosovo is allowed

The Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports, Vlora Dumoshi, held a meeting with the leaders of the Football Federation of Kosovo (FFK), Agim Ademi - chairman and Eroll Salihu - secretary, and announced the decision taken by the institutions to allow activities for the continuation of the training process and the matches of the Football Federation of Kosovo.

Based on the decision issued by the Ministry of Health, the Football Federation of Kosovo must adhere to the temporary guidelines for the application of measures to prevent and combat COVID-19 in public and private institutions.

Minister Dumoshi explained to the leaders of FFK that initially it is allowed to start with preparations and competitions of the Kosovo Super League, and after a few weeks the other leagues. The Minister instructed President Ademi and Secretary Salihu to take all the measures provided for the cleaning and disinfection of the spaces where football activities will take place, under the responsibility of organizing and managing their football in Kosovo.

"We as the Minister will follow with the utmost seriousness and closely how the organization of training and football competitions is being managed in this time of pandemics and if there are any irregularities we will take measures in accordance with the suggestions of health institutions and if necessary we will stop the competitions again if these measures are not respected ", said among others Minister Dumoshi.

The Minister said that the matches should be held without spectators and maximum care should be taken not to cause sports that even a single person is infected with COVID-19.

On the other hand, President Ademi thanked Minister Dumoshi for the support and understanding shown because they as FFK have had requests and deadlines which have been requested by UEFA how they will continue to develop competitions.

Ademi said that they had a cooperation and transparency with the MCYS. He assured Minister Dumoshi that they will communicate with each of the staff of each Super League club and will inform them of the decision and the guide, as well as the necessary materials for cleaning and disinfection. Clubs will be asked to monitor the situation in the first place by club doctors.

Among other things, Ademi informed the Minister about the steps taken by FFK to be close to the clubs and athletes, distributing the necessary financial means according to the rules provided by UEFA.

Whereas, the Minister said that she hopes that the organization of football in the coming days will go according to the foreseen plan and this will be a signal and initiative for the sport to precede the return to normalcy in the Republic of Kosovo.
