This year, through the Human Rights Journalism Fellowship, 10 young aspiring journalists will be supported both financially — by receiving 2,500 euros — and through continuous mentoring by assigned professional editors with expertise in human rights. Fellows will be expected to produce one piece of long-form journalism (up to 5,000 words), a short movie/documentary/video (10 to 20 minutes), and/or a photo-essay with a human rights perspective. Throughout a 6-month course, the fellows will work closely with editors, conduct extensive research around their chosen themes, identify stakeholders, interview sources and will, ultimately, finalize their production to be published on our online magazine platform. The proposals can be submitted in either Albanian, English or Serbian, which will all be working languages during the Fellowship. Who may apply? - Young journalists, independent and/or freelancers, employed or unemployed; - Born and living in Kosovo; - Between the ages of 18 and 35; and - Have at least one year of experience in journalism and/or communications and/or at least two years of education in journalism and/or communications. How to apply? In order to apply for the Fellowship, you will need to fill in the K2.0 HRJF Application Form and submit your Application package by midnight on the 17.06.2020, to [email protected] with the subject line “HRJ Fellowship Application”.
