ENNHRI published report on the state of rule of law in Europe

The Ombudsman Institution has been a member of the European Network for National Human Rights Institutions (ENNHRI) since 2013. This European network has published the Report on the state of the Rule of Law in Europe, which presents the perspective of all member institutions on the situation of the rule of law in their countries, based on monitoring and data collection during the period April – June 2020, including that of Kosovo, according to the report sent by the Institution of the Ombudsman of teh Republic of Kosovo.

The National Human Rights Institutions (NHRI), as well as the Ombudsman Institutions, are key actors in promoting and protecting human rights, democracy and the rule of law, as state-mandated bodies. independent of the government with a broad mandate for human rights. This report identifies the main trends in this regard throughout the region and details the specific situation in each country, including in the context of government response following the spread of COVID-19 virus pandemic.
