House Museum of Father Shtjefën Gjeçovi, a historic site in Janjevë/Janjevo was turned orange last evening, on the last day of the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Violence campaign.
Mr. Riccardo Serri, Deputy Head of EU Office, Ms. Vlora Dumoshi, Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports, Ms. Maria Suokko, UNDP Resident Representative, and municipal representatives were present at this event to symbolically mark the closure of the global 16 Days of Activism campaign to raise awareness on the gender-based violence.

Participants also toured the house museum, which was restored through UNDP’s “Inter-community Dialogue through inclusive Cultural Heritage Preservation” project, funded by the Instrument contributing to Stability and Peace (IcSP / EU), to learn about the history of this teacher, researcher of the Albanian culture, and a Franciscan priest.

The EU and UNDP offices in Kosovo selected Janjevë/Janjevo and the house museum to celebrate the earlier successful cooperation which advances social cohesion and inter-ethnic dialogue as well as mark the International Human Right Day which this year sends a universal message to join forces to make a better world while we tackle the virus – making more inclusive economies and societies, and based on principles of human rights, solidarity and multilateralism.
