WHO Pristina is Organizing a Series of Trainings on Infection Prevention and Other

WHO Pristina jointly with WHO Balkan Hub, and with the support of WHO Regional Office, is organizing a series of trainings of trainers (T o T) on infection prevention control, contact tracing and microbiology. The trainings have started on 14th of Dec and will last until Dec 18th. Trainings are being facilitated by WHO experts, with inputs and involvement of epidemiologists from the Institute of Public Health (IPH) as well. The aim of these T o T sessions is to transfer the most up-to-date WHO guidelines and recommendation on these areas to the relevant IPH staff, who will then continue training the regional staff through cascade trainings. Besides these trainings, WHO will also procure PCR and extraction machines for 2 regional labs. These activities are in the frame of supporting the decentralization of COVID testing and management and they are made possible by British Embassy financing. The trainings jointly with the procurement of equipment, will lead the way to have the regional labs functional and the capacities of regional health workers raised.
