Break the Ice 2.0

The “Break the Ice 2.0” project intends to bring together young people (ages 16 to 25) interested in cultural diversity from all communities in Kosovo. These young people will improve communication and will create a network of young people interested in art and culture from the municipalities of Kamenicë/a, Fushë Kosova/Kosovo Polje, South Mitrovicë/a, and North Mitrovicë/a.

SIT, within this project, alongside the Joint Youth Camp, will launch the “Break the Ice” app and platform. SIT also will adapt cultural activities for young people, such as Walls of Connection, Creative Twinning, to promote the message of the youth’s readiness to collaborate and establish an equitable and peaceful society. In addition, SIT staff will oversee and assist with implementing local campaigns.

Main goal: Through working with youth, empower them to be change agents, utilize culture as a tool for social change, and develop resilience to conflict in the project’s target communities.

The “Break the Ice 2.0” project is implemented by SIT – Center for Counseling, Social Services, and Research and funded by UNMIK.
