Using 3D printers to combat COVID-19 in Kosovo, three US corners have begun designing face shields for local health centers, the US Embassy in Pristina said.

Thanks to the support of professors from the University of Pristina in the field of technical sciences, Saban Buza, the first series of high quality visors was successfully produced, according to this embassy.

"Since April 8, they have produced 50 visors, donating them to the Main Family Medicine Center and the Emergency Center, both in Prizren, as well as to private doctors, dentists and laboratory technicians," the statement said.

The US Corner in Prizren plans to produce 100 face shields, which will be donated to local health centers in coordination with the municipal health authority.

The American Corner in Pristina, on the other hand, has lent its 3D printer and supplies, to BONEVET in Pristina, to support the production of face visors for healthcare professionals.

"Working with its partners, volunteers and the community, BONEVET has increased its visor production to meet the needs of hospitals and medical centers, police and other public services across Kosovo," the embassy concluded.
