UNICEF response to COVID - 19 in Kosovo

Pristina, 25th of August 2020 – The battle against COVID – 19 is not over. As part of joint efforts to fight the spread of the corona virus, UNICEF with support of the Government of Luxembourg, donated today additional 7.6 tons (1,160.000 pcs) of PPE’s to Ministry of Health. From this amount of supplies, 10% will be delivered to Gracanica and Mitrovica North Health Centers.

The fourth batch contains: 2,000coverall protection, 600,000HE*Gloves, 3,000face shield, fog-resistant; 200,000Surgical Caps; 155,000Masks FFP2/N95 and 200,000 surgical masks.

“UNICEF will continue supporting preventative actions in communities to protect the health of children and their parents and caregivers. With these supplies, UNICEF supported home visiting programme and health workforce will feel safe to conduct home visits, support pregnant and lactating women and children across Kosovo” said Murat Sahin, Head of UNICEF Kosovo Office.
