UNICEF Office in Kosovo Held Today its Annual Review

Let’s take a quick look on the achievements!

  • UNICEF in Kosovo and partners managed to immunize 7500 children; reach 20,000 families in 27 municipalities through the Home Visiting programme and conduct vaccine cold chain assessment with the support of Luxembourg Embassy and collaboration with the Ministry of Health.
  • Ministry of Health supported arrival of 24.4 tons PPE's to ensure that nurses are protected while fighting against COVID-19.
  • The Distance Education Platform established with the Ministry of Education, is reaching more than 2.7 million viewers and 220K users.
  • 5000 children received didactic materials thanks to the support of Japan Embassy in Kosovo and Luxembourg Embassy.
  • UNICEF Kosovo was selected as a front-runner to implement the Learning Passport; digitize its skills-based prog, benefiting 300 adolescents and youth from the digitized UPSHIFT. The Learning Passport to be further incorporated in the platform for the pre-university education.
  • Kosovo Generation Unlimited launched and ensured 500 interns in 53 entities, public and private institutions achieved only in 3 months with the support of SIDA. 10,000 interns to be placed by 2021!
  • 2 million people were reached on importance of inclusion of children living with disabilities!
  • 3000 children with disabilities supported with psycho-social services in response to COVID-19.
  • Great response from donors and private sector ensured 800 tablets, thanks to UK in Kosovo and 151 tablets thanks to the donation of Raiffeisen Bank Kosovo.
  • We launched MICS - the largest household survey about children and women in Kosovo in partnership with Kosovo Agency of Statistics with presence of more than 350 participants and 70,000 viewers online!
