Webinar series: Youth as Human Rights Defenders

YIHR KS in cooperation with the partner organization NVO Sokrat successfully organized the next webinar with high school students from Municipalities of Ferizaj and Prishtina.

This webinar aimed to teach students as a whole the basic concepts of human rights in order to identify and protect them, to orient them to have as much access to it as possible. future in this field, as well as to promote their critical and analytical thinking as future human rights activists. Participants had the opportunity to first learn about the theoretical aspect and legal basis on the protection of human rights and marginalized groups in particular.

Through group work, participants had the opportunity to apply the knowledge gained in practice by offering solutions on how to promote the involvement of all groups in both institutions and society.
The activity ended with virtual certification of the participants.

Lecturer in this activity was Florent Spahija, Legal Advisor at the Democratic Institute of Kosovo.

This workshop was held on January 23-24, 2021, through the Zoom platform.

This activity was organized within the project "Empowerment of Communities, Youth and Women for an Effective Rule of Law and Access to Justice in Kosovo", which is implemented by the Youth Initiative for Human Rights - Kosovo (YIHR KS) and the organization NVO Sokrat , with support from UNDP Kosovo.
